I am excited to travel to Oxford and speak about MET(T)A Protocol and the future of mental health and addiction treatment. Over the last few years the elements of MET(T)A and technology have come together for me as a systemic overhaul to our usual way of looking at the problem and solution. Here is the description of my talk:
Traditional inpatient and outpatient models have long remained stagnant, limiting our ability to provide comprehensive and effective trauma-focused care. This talk proposes a groundbreaking hybrid approach that combines the expanded power of EMDR, mindfulness, and cutting-edge technology to usher in a new era of holistic healing. This systemic shift takes us beyond trauma-informed care; it aims to be trauma-focused, placing emphasis on not only understanding trauma but actively addressing and healing it. Drawing upon EMDR therapy, mindfulness practices, and the potential of technology, this is a call to action to rethink the way we treat trauma. This presentation will delve into the intricacies of this innovative methodology, demonstrating how the integration of elements ancient and modern, Eastern, Western and Indigenous, can reshape global mental health care, and also impact the worlds of government, business and communities.
I also have the honor of being on a panel on the closing day of the conference regarding technology in mental health. As we progress with the development of our own technology, I have become more and more excited about sharing with others and creating collaborative opportunities to help end suffering at scale.
If you can’t join in person, it is a hybrid event. See you in Oxford!
