Basic Training in EMDR: Part I

  • Pax House Outpatient Center 2052 North Lake Avenue Los Angeles, CA, 91001 United States (map)

Our first two EMDR Basic Trainings in the Los Angles area sold out quickly and developed a waiting list... so another Part 1 training for August has been added to accommodate the high demand, with a November Part 2 accompanying! I am grateful and excited that there is so much interest in learning and utilizing this wonderful, powerful therapy...

The Institute for Creative Mindfulness presents their first EMDR Basic Trainings in Southern California!  Training will be conducted by Faculty member Stephen Dansiger, PsyD, MFT.

Part 1: July 15, 16, 17
(waiting list only)

FEES: The fees for Parts One & Two are $775 each or $1500 for both. Full payment for trainings must be made in advance to reserve your spot.

Completing our full training program is a multi-tiered process, consisting of:

Part I Training (3 Days= 20 total hours of Lecture and Practicum): Covers the basics of trauma, the adaptive information processing model, trauma-informed stabilization, and the basic methodology and mechanisms of action used in EMDR Therapy. You will be able to practice EMDR Therapy with certain cases after completion of Part I.

Part II Training (3 Days= 20 total hours of Lecture and Practicum): Enhanced practicum content, covering best practices for using EMDR Therapy with special populations and in the complex scenarios of clinical practice; advanced content on ethics, neurobiology, and case conceptualization.

10 Hours of Consultation with an EMDRIA-approved consultant on our team. Completion of consultation is required before a Certificate of Basic Training in EMDR Therapy can be awarded.

Eligibility: Masters or doctoral degree in a clinical mental health-related field (e.g., counseling, marriage & family therapy, social work, psychology) required. Although it is not required, it is strongly preferred that you are in active clinical practice and working with clients.

Teleconferencing is available for the consultation component of the training, a needed feature for many trainees who travel for the training parts.

Spaces for trainings are very limited due to a low attendee-to-faculty ratio (10:1 for practicum). Spots are confirmed only after full payment. A waiting list will be kept for closed trainings.
